Donald

Donald is a smart, handsome, and loyal boy who’s ready for the right person to come into his life. With his big, beautiful brown eyes, Donald will melt your heart once he trusts you. He's selective about who he warms up to and can take time to feel comfortable. For those who earn his trust, his affection is endless, with kisses, joyful circles, and gentle nudges for belly rubs. When he sees someone he loves, Donald shows his excitement by joyfully running in circles and offering his unique greeting—he loves to give a sweet nudge to remind you he's there for some extra love. He thrives on companionship and looks forward to his daily walks, which are his favorite part of the day. He’s a pro on a leash and loves nothing more than spending time outside, watching the world go by while being gently petted. He loves to learn new commands and enjoys showing off everything he already knows. Donald currently lives like a king in his own deluxe-suite at the shelter, complete with a few beds and view of the lobby through a large window. Though, he’d be happiest in a home with a window to watch the neighborhood squirrels go by, and to hangout on the couch beside his forever person.

Due to his past experiences, Donald requires an adult-only home with an experienced handler who understands his need for space, and a house with a fenced-in yard where he can play and do his zoomies. He could be a great big brother to another dog who can keep up with him.

Donald had been let down before and came back to the shelter more cautious after his second adoption. His friends at The Buddy Foundation know that with the right person who is patient and committed, Donald will thrive and show just how truly wonderful he is. Could you be that person for Donald?
