The Buddy Foundation is dedicated to finding good, loving, responsible homes for the dogs/puppies and cats/kittens that we foster. Our animals are stray or abandoned animals that have been rescued mostly in the Northwest Suburbs and surrounding areas. Some were even survivors of Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast!
Our animals have been veterinarian checked for communicable diseases, and checked/treated for obvious parasites, prior to placement into foster homes. By calling our hotline, (847) 290-5806, information on animals for adoption or fostering is available. Animals can then be seen in the foster home or at an adoption show and the foster parent will advise you of our adoption procedures and policies.
By placing our animals in foster homes, they are given the attention, security and family environment they need. The foster families get to know the animal and its personality which enables them to assist in finding a new home that is compatible with this animal. Our foster families are able to assist you in answering questions on the care and needs of the animal which enables the transition to the new home.
The Buddy Foundation adoption fees are $ 100.00 for cats, $125.00 for kittens & $200.00 for dogs, which includes a certificate to spay or neuter the animal when it is age appropriate at a Buddy Foundation affiliated animal hospital and a microchip which would identify the animal if it is ever lost. Where the animal is of appropriate age, he/she will be spayed or neutered before or shortly after being placed in a foster home in compliance with Illinois State law. The fee also includes the following:
